Something to ask your process server: How can I check the status of my service progress?

A process server who is efficient at their job, should always remain in communication with you so that you are never in the dark about what is going on. You as the client should be able to expect updates, whether via email, text or phone call, on a timely basis.

Once the papers have been served to the defendant, your process server will provide the lawyer, solicitor or attorney of record with an Affidavit of Service. If the intended defendant cannot be located, then the process server will provide an Affidavit of Due Diligence, which then allows you to follow other means of service.
